The October 2024 ranking described as “real data” was based on online engagement before shows premiered—not verified viewing figures or a measure of quality. The available ScreenRant excerpt names five titles but does not reveal the complete top ten, their order, or their scores, so a full ranked list cannot be responsibly reproduced.
Which October 2024 shows are named?
ScreenRant’s October 1, 2024 article, syndicated through IMDb News, identified these five among its top five new shows: Matlock, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, NCIS: Origins, Happy’s Place, and Disclaimer. The accessible excerpt does not establish their order or provide attention scores. It also does not show the remaining five titles, so these names should not be treated as a complete top-five ranking or a substitute top ten. The IMDb News result provides the article excerpt; the article page itself was inaccessible when checked.
What did “according to real data” mean?
The excerpt says ScreenRant worked with predictive media analytics company Diesel Labs and describes a “hype score” based on online chatter and engagement signals such as likes, shares, comments, and views across social and video platforms. In practical terms, the ranking aimed to capture attention surrounding shows before their premieres.
That is a narrower claim than saying the shows were the most watched. Online engagement does not establish how many people later watched an episode, whether they liked it, or whether critics judged it well. The excerpt does not disclose the precise measurement dates, geographic scope, complete platform list, or scoring and normalization method, so the score cannot be independently interpreted beyond its broad engagement-based description.

Why another October 2024 list may look different
TheWrap separately reported an October 2024 anticipation ranking from Whip Media’s Watch Report. It is a different list, produced by a different provider, and should not be used to fill gaps in the ScreenRant/Diesel Labs ranking. Whip Media identified Matlock as its leading new show, but that does not establish its position in ScreenRant’s list. TheWrap’s report covers that separate ranking.
Comparing the lists meaningfully would require more than matching titles: the measurement window, audience geography, platforms, scoring approach, and whether new and returning series were grouped together can all affect results. Those details are not established for the ScreenRant excerpt available here.

What can be concluded from the ranking?
- Five titles are visible in the excerpt, but their order and scores are not.
- The “real data” framing refers to online engagement before premiere, not post-release viewership or audience satisfaction.
- The complete ten-show list cannot be verified from the available excerpt, and a separate publisher’s list is not a valid replacement.
