The strongest visual clues are its blue dial and red-and-blue “Pepsi” bezel; the strap’s apparent color is less certain.
Which watch is it?
Watch publications Fratello and Hodinkee identify the watch as a Seiko SKX009, and Watch ID also makes that identification while noting the nearly identical SKX175 as an alternative. Seiko Germany’s brand-associated social post offers corroboration of the SKX009 identification, but it is not a production prop record. None of these sources establishes the reference from a film inventory or a statement by the filmmakers, so the careful answer is SKX009, possibly SKX175.
Fratello’s identification, Hodinkee’s identification, Watch ID’s listing and caveat, and Seiko Germany’s brand-associated post support the attribution to different degrees; none confirms a production-prop record.
What details are visible?
Blue dial and two-color bezel
The reported identifying combination is a blue dial with a red-and-blue bezel, often called a “Pepsi” bezel. Hodinkee also notes the day-date display. These are the most useful visual cues when comparing the on-screen watch with an SKX009.

The strap is harder to call
Watch ID describes a dark blue NATO nylon strap, while Fratello notes that viewers have perceived it as either blue or burgundy under different viewing conditions. It is safest to say the watch appears on a NATO-style strap that looks blue in the cited digital viewing account, rather than treating its color as settled.
What are the SKX009’s reported specifications?
Hodinkee reports that the SKX009 uses Seiko’s 7S26 automatic movement and has a day-date complication. The publication describes the movement as non-hacking—the seconds hand does not stop when the crown is pulled out—and not hand-windable through the crown. These are published model details, not hands-on findings about the particular watch used in the film.

Watch ID reports a 22 mm lug width for the SKX009. That can help when looking for a compatible strap, but check the specific watch and its measurements before buying; an on-screen identification alone does not verify the dimensions of every example.
Where does the watch appear in the film?
All Is Lost is a 2013 film in which Redford plays a yachtsman stranded at sea. Hodinkee points out that the watch recurs as he deals with damage to his boat and tries to seek help. The watch is a visible detail in those scenes, but there is no cited statement from the filmmakers establishing why it was chosen.

Hodinkee suggests viewing around 00:04:55 and 00:20:50 for watch-spotting. Those are the article author’s scene references; timestamps can differ by edition, so use them as approximate cues rather than universal timecodes.
