Robert Downey Jr. wears a URWERK UR-110 RG, reference UR-110 RG, as Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Its unusual satellite hour display makes it more than a background accessory: the hour markers travel across the dial, with the time read on the right side.
Which URWERK watch appears in Spider-Man: Homecoming?
Phillips identifies the screen watch as the URWERK UR-110 RG, reference UR-110 RG, and records it as worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the film. Downey Jr. personally identified the watch as a fit for Tony Stark, according to the auction catalogue. Sony Pictures describes Stark, played by Downey Jr., as Peter Parker’s reluctant mentor. Phillips’ catalogue entry and Sony Pictures’ film page establish the connection between the watch, actor, character, and film.
How the UR-110 displays time
The UR-110’s hours are shown by satellite modules that travel around the dial on planetary gearing. Rather than reading a conventional hand at the center, the wearer reads the time on the dial’s right side as the hour module passes along the minute track. URWERK describes the design as a “silent journey” and says that “Everything looks normal; however, they are everything but.” URWERK’s historical UR-110 page explains the display and its design.
The dial-side Control Board adds a Day/Night indicator, an Oil Change indicator, and small seconds. These details suit the watch’s mechanical, instrument-panel character without obscuring its unconventional time display.

UR-110 model specifications
URWERK lists these specifications for the historical UR-110 model. They describe the model family, not necessarily every edition’s case material or finish; the film-provenance record specifically names the RG variant.
- Case dimensions: 47 mm × 51 mm × 16 mm.
- Crystal: Sapphire with anti-reflective coating.
- Water resistance: 3 ATM.
- Movement: Self-winding UR-9.01 calibre.
- Power reserve: 39 hours.
What does “RG” mean here, and are there other UR-110 versions?
The exact screen identification is UR-110 RG, not simply an unspecified UR-110. Phillips describes the film example as pink gold. URWERK’s historical UR-110 page also lists other versions, including Eastwood, PT, PTH, red gold, and steel. Because materials and finishes differ across these editions, the RG identification should not be generalized to every UR-110.

The watch’s auction provenance
Phillips recorded the UR-110 RG in its 2018 Geneva Watch Auction: SEVEN, where it realized CHF 150,000. That is the historical result of that 2018 auction, not a current valuation, asking price, or indication that the screen-worn watch is available for sale. The provenance appears in the Phillips lot record and the auction’s Phillips article.
