Taco Bell’s original nationwide Decades Menu brought back five items representing five decades, with four arriving October 31, 2024, and the fifth on November 21. The chain announced the limited-time promotion on October 24, 2024, as a look back at its first 50 years. Its “62-year” framing referred to Taco Bell’s age at the time—not to the number of decades represented.
What was on Taco Bell’s 2024 Decades Menu?
The menu paired each decade with a returning item. Taco Bell’s announcement advertised every item for under $3 at participating locations; the listed prices were promotional prices for that 2024 offer, not current prices.

These ingredients and prices come from Taco Bell’s October 24, 2024 announcement. The company said the offer was for a limited time, while supplies lasted, at participating locations; prices and participation varied.
When did the items arrive?
Taco Bell released the menu in two waves, rather than launching all five items on one date:

The announcement set those nationwide start dates but did not promise that every restaurant would carry every item for the same length of time.
What did “62-year history” mean?
Taco Bell was founded in 1962, so it was 62 years old when it announced the menu in 2024. The five returning items represented five decades; “62 years” described the brand’s age at the time, not six decades of menu selections. The Tostada had an especially early connection: Taco Bell said it was one of six items at its first walk-up location in Southern California in 1962.

How the Decades menu continued
The 2024 offer was the first nationwide chapter described in the announcements, but Taco Bell later reused the Decades concept for other eras. These follow-ups are separate promotions, and an announced launch does not establish that an item is still available today.
2025: Y2K menu
Taco Bell announced a Y2K-themed menu beginning nationwide September 9, 2025. It featured the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco, Caramel Apple Empanada, 7-Layer Burrito, Double Decker Taco and Chili Cheese Burrito, along with time-limited merchandise and app activities. 2026: 2016-themed menu
On August 18, 2026, Taco Bell announced a limited-time 2016-themed chapter scheduled to begin nationwide August 20. The announced lineup was the Naked Chicken Chalupa ($5.99), Meximelt ($2.99), Beefy Crunch Burrito ($2.79) and Caramel Apple Empanada ($2.99). Taco Bell said prices and participation varied. Its 2026 announcement confirms the launch plan, but does not establish restaurant-level availability on October 8, 2026.

The company presented the 2024 lineup as a celebration of its history and a way to revisit fan-favorite items. Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery described the campaign as “an ode to our rich history and a love letter to our fans.” Before the nationwide offer, Taco Bell tested a nostalgic menu at three Southern California restaurants— in Irvine, Brea and Fullerton—from August 15–21, 2024; its test announcement said the company was exploring a nationwide return later that year.
