In May 2025, BGR reported that five consecutive episodes of the Star Wars series had each earned an IMDb rating of at least 9.5. That streak was a snapshot in time: IMDb’s currently displayed scores no longer show five episodes in a row at that threshold.
What TV record did Andor break?
BGR reported on May 30, 2025, that Andor was the first television show to have five consecutive episodes rated 9.5 or higher on IMDb. The run started with Season 2, Episode 8, “Who Are You?” and continued through the series finale. The distinction referred to IMDb user ratings for individual episodes, not how many people watched the show. BGR’s report made the historic-record claim; the available evidence does not amount to a comprehensive audit of every TV episode on IMDb, so “first in TV history” is best understood as the reported claim, not an independently verified all-time ranking.

Is the IMDb streak still there?
No. IMDb ratings can change as users submit votes. Its currently displayed Season 2 list shows the five episodes in the reported run at these scores:
| Season 2 episode | IMDb rating currently displayed |
|---|---|
| Episode 8, “Who Are You?” | 9.7 |
| Episode 9 | 9.6 |
| Episode 10 | 9.5 |
| Episode 11 | 9.3 |
| Episode 12, the finale | 9.4 |
Those scores mean the five-episode run no longer clears the 9.5 threshold: Episodes 11 and 12 are below it. IMDb’s current Season 2 episode list also displays vote counts of roughly 32,000, 28,000, 23,000, 21,000 and 22,000 for Episodes 8–12, respectively. These are votes on IMDb, not audience or streaming figures, and both scores and counts may move. For a contemporaneous comparison, IMDb also has a dated episode-list view for May 16, 2025.
