The comment concerned a possible endorsement in the 2024 presidential race. It should not be confused with a separate remark reported by the Associated Press: Trump compared the audience for his telephone rallies with the crowds at Swift’s concerts. AP noted at the time that Swift had not endorsed a candidate. Associated Press report on Trump’s Capitol Hill meetings
What was reported about Nancy Pelosi
CNN’s transcript coverage also recounted Trump’s account of a purported comment involving Pelosi’s daughter and a hypothetical romance between Trump and Pelosi in another life. Pelosi’s daughter called the story a lie, according to the same coverage. The anecdote is disputed and should be attributed to Trump’s reported account, not presented as an established exchange. The House GOP gathering took place on Capitol Hill on June 13, 2024, during a day when Trump also met with Senate Republicans, according to the Associated Press. CNN described the House session as focused largely on grievances about Trump’s legal and electoral challenges, with only brief discussion of policy. Because the meeting was closed to the public and the cited reporting does not provide an official transcript or recording, the remarks should be described as reported comments. The Swift endorsement question, AP’s separate rally-audience comparison, and the contested Pelosi anecdote are distinct pieces of reporting—not one continuous exchange.
