Brady added that he could not repeat most of what the supporters had said, turning the post-match exchange into a joke about the clubs’ chants.
What did Tom Brady say to David Beckham?
Brady posted: “Thanks for teaching me how to sing at a football match @davidbeckham.” The Independent quoted that wording from Brady’s Instagram post; Goal reported a fuller version that continued, “Can’t repeat most of what was said.” The Independent and Goal reported the post on September 17, 2024.
What did Beckham tell him?
Beckham later said Brady had remarked on the atmosphere and asked what the fans were singing. Beckham explained what the chants said about the teams, and Brady found the explanation funny. Beckham also praised the supporters, saying, “I’ve not seen an atmosphere like that for a long time, where Birmingham fans and Wrexham fans were incredible,” in comments to CBS Sports Golazo quoted by Goal on September 18, 2024. The match behind the joke
The exchange followed Birmingham City’s 3-1 win over Wrexham at St Andrew’s in League One on September 16, 2024. Wrexham scored first, but Birmingham came back, with Jay Stansfield scoring twice. Brady attended alongside Beckham; the meeting drew attention because of the clubs’ high-profile ownership. BBC Sport’s match report
