A brief preview arrived on December 18, 2024, showing Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Daily Planet staff looking up; the full official teaser followed on December 19 with a broader introduction to Clark Kent, Superman, Krypto and the film’s world.
Two clips, released on consecutive days
The December 18 video was an advance glimpse, not the official teaser trailer. TheWrap described Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen and Daily Planet staff looking upward, followed by ordinary people doing the same. Its report said the official teaser was scheduled for the next morning. TheWrap’s December 18 report

Superman, Krypto and the action
One striking image shows Krypto finding an injured Superman in the snow. Other footage shows Superman rescuing people, a kaiju and additional action. These are images in the trailer; they do not, by themselves, establish the events or causes behind them.
Lois, Luthor and other DC characters
The teaser includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, as well as brief looks at Guy Gardner, Metamorpho, Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific. DC’s breakdown treats some identities and causes in the action footage as open questions, so the shots should not be taken as confirmation of a particular plot explanation. DC’s account of what the trailer does—and does not—reveal
What the teaser leaves unanswered
The footage establishes that the film moves between Clark’s life at the Daily Planet, Superman’s public rescues and larger threats. It does not provide a full plot synopsis or explain every image. A kaiju appears, for example, but the trailer breakdown does not identify its origin or establish what brings it into the story.
At the trailer premiere, Brosnahan described the difference between the leads this way: “They’re united in the fact that they are both in relentless pursuit of truth and justice, but they approach the world in totally different ways.” The line offers a useful character contrast, not a plot reveal.
