Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said creators are actively working on “the next show,” but he did not confirm Solo Leveling Season 3 or announce a release date. A separate movie announcement appeared later in Crunchyroll News, but the available information does not establish whether it is connected to the project Purini mentioned.
What did the Crunchyroll CEO say?
In an interview published by Radio Times on May 23, 2026, reporter Tilly Pearce asked Purini, “Any news about Solo Leveling?” He replied: “Nothing to announce, but we are just as eager as the fans for the next show! We know the creators are actively working on it, so hopefully we can announce something soon.” Radio Times, May 23, 2026
The statement offers a reason for fans to be hopeful: Purini said creators were actively working on a next project. But “nothing to announce” is not a renewal confirmation, and “the next show” does not identify a season, format, title, or platform. The quote does not say that Season 3 has been greenlit.
Is Solo Leveling Season 3 confirmed?
Not by Purini’s May interview. As of October 8, 2026, the sources cited here do not establish a Season 3 title, television renewal, release date, or release window. GamesRadar reported the same interview on June 1 and noted that no Season 3 release date had been announced at that point; it is coverage of Purini’s remarks, not a separate renewal announcement. GamesRadar, June 1, 2026

How does the movie announcement fit in?
Crunchyroll News’ index lists a July 3, 2026 announcement titled Solo Leveling -Beyond the System- Anime Movie Announced by Aniplex and Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll News, July 3, 2026 The listing identifies a theatrical movie announcement, but it does not establish that this film is the “next show” Purini discussed in May.
| Announcement | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Purini interview, May 23, 2026 | He said there was nothing to announce and creators were actively working on “the next show.” | A Season 3 renewal, project format, title, or release date. |

When will Season 3 come out?
No Season 3 release date or window is established by the cited sources. Purini’s hope that Crunchyroll could announce something soon is not a schedule, and the later movie listing does not provide a Season 3 timetable. Treat a specific Season 3 date or year as unverified unless an official announcement names it.

Radio Times described Solo Leveling as Crunchyroll’s most-streamed show at the time Season 2 arrived, but gave no audience total or methodology. That is a qualitative ranking reported by the outlet, not a published view count. The article also identifies the series’ source as a Korean manhwa, giving readers an alternative way to continue with the story while awaiting confirmed anime news.
