The four principal doctors in Netflix’s Lenox Hill are David Langer and John Boockvar, both neurosurgeons, Mirtha Macri, an emergency physician, and Amanda Little-Richardson, an obstetrician. The most recent reported updates are from 2023 for three of them, and from 2020 for the fourth. Langer, Boockvar, and Macri returned on screen in Netflix’s 2023 follow-up Emergency: NYC. In March 2023, Entertainment Tonight described Langer as chair and Boockvar as vice chair of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. A 2020 report said Little-Richardson had moved to California and was working in an obstetrics department there. None of these positions has been independently confirmed as current in 2026, so treat them as dated reporting.

David Langer
Langer is one of the two neurosurgeons featured in the original series. Netflix Tudum’s 2023 article on Emergency: NYC identifies him as a neurosurgery chair and quotes him on his time on screen: “Being part of Netflix’s Lenox Hill and Emergency NYC has been an experience of a lifetime,” he says. The Entertainment Tonight piece from March 2023 gives the same chair title. Those are the most recent sourced descriptions of his role, and they date from 2023.

John Boockvar
Boockvar is the other featured neurosurgeon, and he also appears in Emergency: NYC. Netflix Tudum quotes him saying the series “accurately depicts the heroism of our health care workers as they selflessly handle the challenges of their professions while managing their own personal struggles.” Entertainment Tonight’s 2023 profile listed him as vice chair of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill, a title that should be read as the 2023 position only.
Mirtha Macri
Macri is the emergency physician featured in the original documentary. In a 2020 Entertainment Tonight interview tied to the pandemic episode, she said she was expecting her second child and had returned to emergency work. Netflix later included her among the Lenox Hill clinicians featured in Emergency: NYC. The available sources do not establish her current position, and this article does not report on her family life beyond what she discussed publicly in 2020.

Amanda Little-Richardson
Little-Richardson, the obstetrician followed through her pregnancy and residency, moved to California after filming. Entertainment Tonight reported in 2020 that she was working in an obstetrics department there. That is the most specific update available, but it is more than six years old, and no reliable source found for this article confirms her current employer or title. Read it as a snapshot of 2020, not a current job listing.
What “returned in Emergency: NYC” does and does not prove
Netflix describes Emergency: NYC as a series from the creators of Lenox Hill and lists Langer, Boockvar, and Macri as featured in both. That is the strongest post-series screen evidence for three of the four doctors. It confirms their later on-camera work, but it does not show their current appointments, their clinical responsibilities, or the outcomes for any patient. The series and the original show present real clinicians and real hospital work; they should not be read as a record of what happened to individual patients after filming.
