What did Terry George say happened?
In a 13 March 2019 report, the New Zealand Herald recounted George’s later account. George said he was 13 when he met Jackson at a Leeds hotel after seeking an interview. They exchanged phone numbers, and George said Jackson called him regularly.
George told ABC News in 2005 that Jackson spoke about masturbation and said, “Would you believe that I’m doing it now?” George recalled feeling uncomfortable. This is George’s recollection of what Jackson allegedly said—not independently verified dialogue from the 1979 call.
When did the allegation become public?
The Herald report says details first surfaced publicly in 1993, when Jackson was facing a civil suit alleging sexual abuse of Jordan Chandler. George also discussed the subject in 2003 with Louis Theroux, and gave the ABC News interview in 2005. These are later accounts of the alleged calls, not contemporaneous documentation of them.

What does the report say about FBI files?
The 2019 Herald article says FBI files released in 2009 included a 1993 reference to George’s allegation and the words “no further action.” The article characterizes the files, but does not reproduce the underlying record. That phrase alone does not establish what investigators examined or whether they reached a finding about the alleged call.
