In June 2024, internet personality Sofia Ligeros found a CD marked “Cockatoo Paul Live” in a vintage shop in Exmouth, Western Australia. As reported by PerthNow, the discovery came while she was grieving the recent death of her friend Cockatoo Paul and deciding whether to travel to his memorial in Byron Bay. Ligeros took the unexpected find as a sign to go.
What did Sofia Ligeros find?
Ligeros and a friend were visiting a vintage store in Exmouth while travelling around Western Australia. According to Taylor Renouf’s PerthNow report, her friend called her over to a CD whose cover read “Cockatoo Paul Live.” Ligeros said she had not known CDs of him existed.
She described the moment in the TikTok video cited by PerthNow: “This is probably one of those things where if I didn’t have proof, no one would believe me.” She also said, “I didn’t even know that this existed. I didn’t know there were CDs of him.”
Why the find mattered to her
The discovery happened as Ligeros was weighing whether to continue her travels in Western Australia or drive to Byron Bay, New South Wales, for Cockatoo Paul’s memorial. PerthNow reported that she had recently announced her close friend’s death and wanted to be with her Byron Bay family as they grieved.

Ligeros interpreted the CD’s appearance as a sign to make the journey. That was her personal reading of an emotionally significant coincidence, as recounted in the report; it is not evidence of a supernatural cause.
What is known about the CD?
The reporting identifies the words on the cover, but does not establish the CD’s recording, artist credit, label, release date, catalog number, seller or current availability. It therefore cannot be confidently identified as a commercial release, or treated as proof that other copies exist. The story does not establish that the specific CD can be bought.

The account documents how Ligeros described the find and its meaning to her. It does not independently verify the CD’s provenance, Cockatoo Paul’s identity or memorial arrangements. The available report also does not establish whether the item was later purchased or remains available.
