Sam Kerr’s “blind drunk” remark was a joke about the New Year’s Eve party she was looking forward to, not a formal statement about drinking. She made it while briefly appearing on fiancée Kristie Mewis’s podcast, Mewis Squared. Kerr and Mewis later married in Perth on 31 December 2025.

Asked whether Mewis was being a “bridezilla,” Kerr rejected the label and described how she had talked with Mewis about the pressure to make every guest’s experience perfect.
“I cannot wait until we’re all blind drunk, partying, New Year’s Eve,” Kerr said, as quoted by PerthNow in its 15 November 2025 report. In context, the line was a humorous expression of excitement about the party atmosphere—not a serious plan or advice about alcohol. The remark came during Kerr’s brief appearance on Mewis Squared, co-hosted by Mewis and her sister Sam. PerthNow’s report is the source for the quoted exchange.
Kerr said Mewis’s attention to guests came from a good place, but could make it harder for her to enjoy the day herself: “everyone is coming to celebrate us and you can’t make their experience perfect.” She added: “Our wedding is going to be amazing but Kristie obviously cares so much about people’s experience that she’s sacrificing my experience.”

What was known about the plans in November 2025
When PerthNow published the podcast remarks on 15 November 2025, Kerr and Mewis had not disclosed when or where they would marry. The report said Mewis was handling most of the planning and organizing. The couple, parents to their son Jagger, had made their relationship public in 2021 and became engaged in 2023.
Where and when Kerr and Mewis married
Later reports confirmed that Kerr and Mewis married in Perth on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2025, with the ceremony in the Swan Valley. PerthNow reported that about 120 guests were expected and that Kerr would walk down the aisle with Jagger; 7NEWS also reported the marriage and an attendance of around 120. Those figures are news reports’ estimates, not an official attendance tally.

On 3 January 2026, PerthNow reported that the couple had shared their first official wedding photos. Mewis described the celebration as “exactly what we imagined and more,” and said they had wanted a simple, warm and fun day. PerthNow’s account of the wedding photos reported those comments.
The November story captured Kerr’s lighthearted anticipation before the wedding details were public. Subsequent coverage established the outcome: the couple celebrated their marriage in Perth on New Year’s Eve.
