The Drew Carey Show ended in 2004, and its cast did not move on together. Drew Carey became a long-running game-show host, Craig Ferguson started a late-night talk show in 2005, and the rest of the ensemble spread across improv, scripted television, films, voice acting, children’s media and writing. The finale closed one job for each of them, but it was not the end of their public work.
Where each performer went
The entries below cover the notable post-sitcom work named in the sources available for this article, which include a secondary entertainment roundup, CBS’s Drew Carey biography, two biography pages, an author-bio page and IMDb’s episode credits. They are career milestones, not complete filmographies, and they do not describe anyone’s current schedule.

Drew Carey
Carey’s most visible post-sitcom job is hosting The Price Is Right, which he began in 2007. Earlier, he hosted the American improv series Whose Line Is It Anyway?. CBS’s biography also describes a long-running SiriusXM radio program and his involvement with Seattle Sounders FC. That biography is partly historical, so confirm any of these as current before relying on them.
Ryan Stiles
Stiles stayed with improv. The roundup says he continued his career through Whose Line Is It Anyway?, including its revival, and took guest roles in other television comedies. The sources do not name those comedies or establish a present-day touring schedule, so treat his current activity as unconfirmed.
#1 Best Overall
Craig Ferguson
Ferguson hosted The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson from 2005 to 2014, which made him the cast’s most prominent late-night figure. His later work, according to his biography, includes writing and directing films, acting and voice-over roles, and stand-up touring. The biography records these milestones but does not lay out an itinerary for the years since.
Christa Miller
Miller followed her role as Kate O’Brien with two prominent television parts: Jordan Sullivan on Scrubs and Ellie Torres on Cougar Town. The roundup also says she has worked behind the scenes as a producer.
Diedrich Bader
Bader kept working in live-action sitcoms and in voice acting. The roundup points to his voice role as Batman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and to on-screen roles in American Housewife, Veep and Better Things.

Kathy Kinney
Kinney co-created the children’s storytelling site MrsP.com and plays its book-loving host, Mrs. P. In 2010 she co-authored Queen of Your Own Life: The Grown-up Woman’s Guide to Claiming Happiness and Getting the Life You Deserve, a self-help book rather than anything about the sitcom. In 2019 she reunited with Carey, Stiles and Bader on American Housewife.

The roundup lists later film work including Zodiac, The Founder and Fargo, plus appearances in American Horror Story and The Walking Dead. These are examples from one summary, not a full credit list.
Cynthia Watros
Watros’s most cited later role is Libby on Lost. The roundup also places her in daytime serials, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital.

The cast’s post-sitcom work falls along three lines: hosting versus acting, live improv versus scripted screen work, and on-camera work versus voice, writing or children’s media. The table sorts the named work into those lanes. An empty cell means the sources named no example in that lane, not that the performer has no such work.
| Performer | Hosting | Live improv | Scripted screen | Voice, writing or children’s media |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Carey | The Price Is Right (from 2007) | Whose Line Is It Anyway? | Sitcom lead | SiriusXM radio program (per CBS biography) |
| Ryan Stiles | Whose Line Is It Anyway?, including the revival | Guest roles in other TV comedies (not named) | ||
| Craig Ferguson | The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (2005–2014) | Stand-up touring | Acting roles; directing and writing films | Voice-over roles |
| Christa Miller | Scrubs; Cougar Town | Producer work | ||
| Diedrich Bader | American Housewife; Veep; Better Things | Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Batman) | ||
| Kathy Kinney | Host of MrsP.com (Mrs. P) | American Housewife (2019) | Co-created MrsP.com; co-authored Queen of Your Own Life (2010) | |
| John Carroll Lynch | Zodiac; The Founder; Fargo; American Horror Story; The Walking Dead | |||
| Cynthia Watros | Lost; The Young and the Restless; General Hospital |
Read across the table and the pattern is less about success than about range. Carey and Ferguson built the longest-running hosting careers. Stiles stayed closest to improv. Bader, Kinney and Lynch moved between on-camera and voice or written work, and Kinney’s children’s and book projects are the clearest examples of work outside screen acting.
What the available sources do not settle
- Current status. None of the sources establishes what anyone is working on in 2026. Hosting contracts, radio programs, tours and streaming availability all change, so check each one before relying on it.
- Stiles’s current schedule. His improv career is documented through the revival of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, but the sources do not establish present-day touring or television dates.
- Lynch and Watros lists. Both entries are drawn from a single roundup and should be read as examples, not complete credits.
- Quotations and figures. The sources contain no direct quotation from a cast member and no audience, ratings or salary figures, so none appear here.
For the most accurate picture, check each performer’s current official biography or credits page, since those reflect later work that the sources above do not cover.
