What did Piers Morgan post?
After Brooklyn’s statement drew news coverage, Morgan shared a photo of a newscast about it and described the family saga as more painful than fracturing his femur badly enough to need a new hip. He then wrote: “What a repellent bunch of fake, narcissistic PR-obsessed twerps.” Us Weekly quoted Morgan’s post; SPORTbible reported the reaction in the context of the family row.

What did Brooklyn Beckham say?
Brooklyn posted his statement on Instagram on 19 January 2026. He said he did not want to reconcile with his family and alleged that his parents controlled press narratives and tried to undermine his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. He also made claims about wedding planning and his family’s conduct. These are allegations in Brooklyn’s account, not independently verified findings in the reports cited here. Sky News reproduced his statement, and the Associated Press reported his claims with attribution.
Did David Beckham respond directly?
No. On 20 January, David Beckham spoke generally about children, social media and learning from mistakes at the World Economic Forum in Davos. CNBC’s Squawk Box quoted him saying: “They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.” The Associated Press and The Guardian reported that he did not directly address Brooklyn’s allegations.
