In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, syndicated by Yahoo Entertainment, Boyd remembered Harrison visiting her a few months before he died. He brought small gifts, and they played music and had tea. They talked in her garden, where Harrison noticed flowers emerging from the soil and moving in the breeze.

Boyd recalled him saying, “The flowers are shivering.” It was the detail she particularly remembered from the visit.
Why did Boyd think it might be a goodbye?
Boyd said she knew Harrison was unwell and sensed that he wanted to see her before it was too late. That was her interpretation of the visit, not something Harrison explicitly told her. The interview describes it as their last meeting.

The account gives only an approximate timeframe: a few months before Harrison’s death in November 2001. It does not specify the date or the location of Boyd’s garden, and it does not include Harrison’s own account of the visit.
How did their relationship continue after their marriage?
Boyd met Harrison on the set of A Hard Day’s Night in March 1964, when she was 19 and had a small role in the film. They married in 1966 and separated in 1974. In the interview, Boyd described their marriage as ending because they were moving in different directions, while also recalling that they remained close.

The interview recounts that Harrison accepted Boyd’s relationship with his friend Eric Clapton, attended Boyd and Clapton’s 1979 wedding, and jokingly called himself their “husband-in-law.” Boyd summed up the affection she felt remained between her and Harrison: “Just because things didn’t work out as we planned, it didn’t diminish our love for each other.”
