Del Rio denied assaulting her two days later and said he believed she had been the aggressor. Those are conflicting accounts; the reports do not establish a legal finding about Paige’s allegations.
What Paige said in the 2020 interview
Wrestling Inc. reported Paige’s GAW TV appearance on November 6, 2020, and credited the program for the interview and transcript. Paige said she had previously avoided discussing the relationship in podcasts or interviews because she anticipated online victim-blaming and feared people might dismiss what she experienced.
She described a pattern that she said began with her fighting back and became something that happened every day. Paige also said she could be trapped in a room for six or seven hours and beaten repeatedly. These are Paige’s statements as transcribed from the interview, not independently established findings. Wrestling Inc.’s report.
How Del Rio responded
In a response to TMZ Sports reported by Wrestling Inc. on November 8, 2020, Del Rio denied Paige’s account and asserted that she had been the aggressor. He said, “I have the evidence. Not just words,” and said he was considering legal action for defamation. The report does not show that his claimed evidence was examined or that a defamation suit was filed. What the 2017 airport dispute does—and does not—show
In July 2017, TMZ reported a dispute involving the couple at Orlando International Airport. Its account described audio of an argument, reported that Paige attributed the police call to a female fan who she said had thrown a drink, and said law enforcement characterized its inquiry as a domestic-violence investigation. TMZ also reported that Del Rio was not arrested at the scene. These are details from TMZ’s contemporaneous reporting, not a court finding, and the airport episode does not prove either person’s account of the later-described relationship. TMZ’s report on the airport incident.
A separate report in 2026
On April 7, 2026, EL PAÍS México reported that Del Rio had been arrested after a call for help from his wife in San Luis Potosí. That report concerns a separate event and different allegations; it does not establish the truth of Paige’s 2020 account. An arrest report is not a finding of guilt.
