Mueller Associates marked six decades since its 1966 founding with a three-part documentary series and the release of Invisible Excellence: Mueller Associates and the Art of Engineering. At a September 24, 2026 celebration at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, the firm premiered the series’ final installment, Building the Future.
What Mueller Associates marked with its 60th anniversary
Founded in Baltimore in 1966, Mueller Associates describes its work as engineering for museums, universities, performing arts organizations and other institutional clients. Its anniversary looks back at the people, projects, relationships and ideas behind the firm’s history. The firm’s official account names early work involving the Washington National Cathedral, Smithsonian facilities, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the White House; those examples are company-reported history. Mueller Associates’ history page presents the firm’s account.
The celebration took place September 24, 2026, at the Performing Arts and Humanities Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Clients, colleagues, employees, alumni, partners and friends attended. The event premiered the final documentary and marked the book’s release, as ASPE Pipeline reported on October 5, 2026.
The three documentaries and what they cover
The completed anniversary series consists of three installments. Mueller’s official history page describes them as a look at the firm’s people, projects and defining moments:
