Wolfe also said he and others tried to help, including by staging an intervention. Those are Wolfe’s recollections, not an independently documented medical history.
What Mike Wolfe said about Frank Fritz’s addiction
Wolfe discussed Fritz’s private struggle in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE published November 4, 2024. Wolfe said a back injury and surgery during the pandemic preceded Fritz’s opioid addiction, and described the overlap of surgery and pandemic-related time off as a “perfect storm.”
Wolfe drew a distinction between recounting his own experience and telling Fritz’s story: “I don’t have the right to tell his story — only he does. But I do have, I feel, the right to tell the personal story of how myself and so many people struggled to navigate what was going on in his life.”
Did Wolfe and others try to help Fritz?
Wolfe said he and people close to Fritz tried to support him and staged an intervention with family members and others who cared about him. A TV Insider recap of the interview also describes Wolfe’s efforts to encourage treatment and his account that Fritz chose to handle matters himself. These are Wolfe’s recollections, not a complete or independently verified treatment history.
