The performance described in Michele Reiner’s email included members of Williams’s family and guests, among them Georgetown professor Marc Howard and Billy Crystal, according to the report. Williams said the Reiners became “an integral part of my life.” He also said they did not seek recognition for helping him: “Rob and Michele didn’t want credit for trying to help me. It was just because they loved me.” Those remarks are attributed to Williams in the NBC interview as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Who is Nanon Williams, and what was the legal case?
Williams was sentenced to death in 1995 for a 1992 killing in Houston. His sentence was reduced to life without parole in 2005, and he maintains his innocence, the report says.
