Cabot said she took accountability for her conduct and gave up her career. Her account of the relationship circumstances—including that she was separated, and that Byron was also separated from his spouse—was reported as what she told the Times; it is not independently established by the concert video. What happened at the Coldplay kiss cam?
A concertgoer recorded Cabot, then Astronomer’s HR chief, and Byron on a VIP balcony at Coldplay’s July 16, 2025, concert in Boston. When the pair appeared on the stadium screen, Cabot covered her face and Byron ducked out of view. The clip was shared on TikTok and went viral.

Coldplay singer Chris Martin joked, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy. I’m not quite sure.” That remark was a spontaneous joke about their reaction, not evidence establishing what their private relationship was. ABC News
Were Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron having an affair?
The video shows their public reaction to appearing on the screen, but does not establish the full context of their relationship. Cabot acknowledged inappropriate behavior with her boss. For the private relationship details, reports attribute the separation context to her Times interview rather than presenting it as independently verified. Martin’s joke should not be treated as confirmation of an affair.

She told ABC News: “I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them.” ABC News
