In an early March 2022 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jacob Elordi said that playing Nate Jacobs on Euphoria meant repeatedly facing sexual or nude scenes. He also connected Nate’s nudity to the character’s macho image and described filming with the show’s longtime crew as awkwardly familiar.
What did Jacob Elordi say about the scenes?
Elordi appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 1, 2022, shortly after Euphoria Season 2 aired its finale. Describing what the scripts asked of Nate, he said: “You have no choice. You know, every scene is like, he sleeps with this person. He does this with this person, naked.” The Independent reported the remarks on March 3, 2022.

How did he explain Nate’s nudity?
Elordi tied the character’s onscreen nudity to Nate’s ultra-masculine, macho-jock persona. As Teen Vogue reported on March 2, 2022, he said: “On Euphoria, it comes with the territory of the character. He’s this ultra-masculine, macho jock. Those guys, I think, tend to go around pretty shirtless, so it’s sort of OK.” That was Elordi’s explanation of the character, not a claim that every nude scene served the same purpose.
Why did filming feel awkward to him?
Elordi also compared being nude on set to being naked in front of family. The Independent noted that the same crew had worked on the series since its first season; his comparison conveyed the awkwardness of being exposed around people he knew well, not that the set was literally a family environment.

What context is available?
The remarks are documented in contemporaneous reports by Teen Vogue and The Independent, rather than a complete interview transcript or production record. Their accounts support the key points—Elordi’s description of the scripts, his explanation of Nate’s macho characterization, and his comment about the familiar crew—but do not establish a scene-by-scene account of how the production handled nudity.
