The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is an advocacy organization that describes itself as a watchdog focused on human rights in mental-health settings. When considering claims about legislative influence, distinguish between a reported contribution and an independently documented outcome. A law’s passage may involve multiple advocates, lawmakers and institutions; the figure alone does not show the extent of CCHR’s role in any specific reform.

- Is the material describing an allegation, an investigation’s conclusion, or a finding by a court or public authority?
- Does it cite records, named sources or primary documents that can be checked?
- Are risks, alternatives and consent discussed in the context of the specific treatment and circumstances, rather than generalized to all psychiatric care?
- When CCHR or the church reports a result—such as a legal reform—is there a named law or independent account that substantiates the claimed contribution?
