How much of the series is historical?
Masters of the Air is a dramatized account of the 100th Bomb Group, known as the “Bloody Hundredth,” and its bombing missions over Nazi Germany. Apple says the series is based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name; Apple’s series page lists its release date as January 26, 2024, with the finale, Part Nine, dated March 15, 2024. Apple TV Press gives those series details. The 100th Bomb Group Foundation describes it as a nine-episode portrait of the Eighth Air Force and notes that foundation members served as technical and historical consultants.
