NBA League Pass is the NBA’s paid streaming service for live and on-demand out-of-market games. It also offers full-game replays, condensed games, highlights and, depending on location and device, additional viewing features. It does not guarantee live access to every game: local and national broadcast rights create blackouts, and rules differ between the United States, Canada and other supported countries.
The blackout details below reflect the NBA’s guide updated October 6, 2026, and the 2026–27 viewing guide. Before subscribing for a particular team or game, check its listing and the NBA’s location checker: the answer depends on where you will watch and how that game is being broadcast.
What NBA League Pass includes
The service is designed for games that are outside a viewer’s local broadcast market. The NBA describes its offering as hundreds of out-of-market games available live or on demand. Subscribers can also find full-game replays, condensed games and highlights. The number of games available live to an individual subscriber depends on territorial rights and broadcast assignments, not simply on whether the subscriber has paid for League Pass.
Depending on country, device and current product offering, League Pass may include alternate feeds, multiple broadcast options, in-game stat overlays, classic matchups and other NBA content. These extras are not universal: a feature listed for the service may not be available on every device or in every region. The NBA’s service overview describes the core content at NBA League Pass.

For 2026–27, the NBA describes League Pass as a destination for games not available on a national platform or in the viewer’s local market. The NBA App and NBA.com are sales and viewing routes, and the NBA identifies Amazon as its primary third-party digital distributor for that season. Distribution through a third party does not change the game rights or make a blacked-out game available live. The NBA’s season-specific viewing guide lists the current outlets and routes at How to watch NBA games in 2026–27.
Plan features are separate from game rights
The NBA’s product descriptions distinguish standard League Pass from Premium. Standard is described as including commercials and one concurrent device. Premium includes features such as offline viewing, up to three devices and in-arena streams. A plan feature affects how a subscriber can watch eligible content; it does not override a blackout. Check the live purchase page for current plan terms and price, because pricing is dynamic and displayed snapshots can differ: NBA League Pass purchase and features.
Why a game may be blacked out
Blackouts reflect exclusive live rights held by local or national broadcasters. The NBA’s blackout guide explains that these restrictions exist because local and national content providers have exclusive rights to show certain live games and content. League Pass is therefore most useful when the games a viewer wants are outside the viewer’s local market and are not assigned to a national broadcaster.
To determine whether a specific game is available live, check five things: the country where you will watch, your location within that country, the game’s broadcast assignment, the type of event, and whether you need live access or can watch a replay later. The NBA uses the accessing device’s location, including its IP address or enabled location services, to apply restrictions. In the United States and Canada, ZIP codes help identify local teams. A move or trip can change which local rules apply.

Under the NBA blackout guide updated October 6, 2026, League Pass subscribers in the United States cannot watch local NBA team games or nationally broadcast games live through the service. The local-market rule means a viewer should not assume that following a team from elsewhere, or buying a higher-tier plan, makes that team’s local broadcast available on League Pass.

The replay timing depends on why the game was blocked. The NBA says a local game becomes available three days after its live broadcast concludes. A nationally broadcast game becomes available at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time the following day. Those are different windows, so identify the broadcast category before deciding when to return for a replay.
The 2026–27 national outlets identified by the NBA include ESPN, ABC, NBC, Peacock and Prime Video. Which outlet carries an individual game depends on the schedule. Check the NBA game listing or the relevant broadcaster’s schedule rather than assuming a team’s usual channel will carry every matchup. For a US subscriber, use the NBA’s ZIP-code checker and blackout guide before subscribing or planning a live viewing: League Pass Blackout Guide.
Canada: national broadcasts are the stated blackout category
The NBA’s October 2026 guide describes Canadian League Pass blackouts for nationally broadcast games. It names Sportsnet, TSN, CTV, RDS and Amazon Prime Video as examples of places to watch the live broadcast. The guide does not summarize Canadian restrictions in the same way as US restrictions: its Canadian category is national broadcasts, while the US category includes both local team games and national broadcasts.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a Canadian national broadcast blocked live on League Pass, the guide says the replay becomes available a few hours after the broadcast ends. Check the specific game’s Canadian broadcast assignment and the current NBA listing; a broadcaster named as an example is not necessarily carrying every game.
Other supported countries and travel
League Pass is available in most countries and regions, but some territories are excluded. The NBA says a subscriber can use the service in any supported country, regardless of the country where the subscription was purchased. The blackout guide says subscribers outside the United States and Canada have every NBA game available live, subject to service availability and the rights that apply in the territory.

That broader access should not be read as one universal international rule. Availability still depends on the viewer’s country and the event’s rights. A subscriber traveling from one country to another may encounter a different set of available games because the service applies location-based restrictions. Confirm the destination’s support and the game’s listing with the NBA’s Global NBA League Pass Availability page and the blackout guide.
Special events have their own rules
Regular-season assumptions do not always carry over to the Emirates NBA Cup, All-Star Weekend, the Playoffs, the Finals or Summer League. The following access details come from the NBA’s guide updated October 6, 2026, and its 2025–26 League Pass FAQ where noted. Event rights can change by season, so check the current game schedule when planning around a particular event.

Emirates NBA Cup
The NBA’s 2025–26 FAQ says US and Canadian League Pass subscribers can watch non-nationally broadcast Group Play games, subject to local blackouts; subscribers outside those countries have access to every Cup game. The October 2026 blackout guide adds that US subscribers cannot watch the semifinals or final live on League Pass, and that certain Cup games are unavailable in Canada. That means a Cup game’s round and broadcast assignment matter, not just its competition name.
All-Star Weekend, Playoffs and Finals
For US subscribers, the October 2026 guide says All-Star Weekend events, NBA Playoffs and NBA Finals are unavailable live on League Pass, with on-demand access at 6:00 a.m. ET the following day. In Canada, the same event categories are unavailable live, with replays described as available a few hours after the live broadcast. These rules are distinct from the regular local-game replay window.
Summer League
The guide says California Classic and Utah Summer League games are available live and on demand globally. Las Vegas Summer League availability depends on location and subscription; under the described terms, US League Pass subscribers do not receive those games live. Summer League rights are event- and season-specific, so use the current schedule rather than applying a rule from a prior summer.

How to check a game before you subscribe
- Start with the country where you will watch. Confirm that League Pass is supported there using the NBA’s global availability page. For travel, check the destination country rather than relying only on the country where you bought the subscription.
- Check the local market. If watching in the United States or Canada, use the NBA’s blackout guide and location checker. In the US, local team games are blocked live; Canadian restrictions are described around national broadcasts.
- Find the game’s broadcast assignment. Look at the NBA schedule and the broadcaster listed for that specific matchup. A national broadcast can make a game unavailable live on League Pass even when neither team is local.
- Identify the event category. For Cup games, All-Star events, Playoffs, Finals and Summer League, apply the event-specific rules rather than assuming a regular-season rule.
- Decide whether the replay window works for you. If live access is blocked, the delay varies by territory and broadcast category. Confirm the applicable timing in the current NBA guide.
- Then compare plan features. Once you know the game is eligible, decide whether features such as concurrent streams, offline viewing or in-arena streams matter to you, and verify the current plan details on the purchase page.
The NBA’s main references for that check are the blackout guide, the 2026–27 viewing guide and the League Pass FAQ. A game listing is the practical way to verify a particular matchup; general descriptions of League Pass cannot establish an individual viewer’s live access without the location and broadcast information.
Who is most likely to find League Pass useful?
League Pass is a strong fit for a viewer who primarily follows teams outside their local market, wants to watch eligible games live or on demand, and is comfortable checking restrictions for nationally televised matchups and special events. It can also suit viewers who value replays, condensed games or other available NBA content rather than requiring every game live.
It is a weaker fit for someone whose main goal is to watch a local team live in the United States, or to watch national broadcasts live in the United States or Canada through one subscription. In those cases, the local or national broadcaster is the relevant live route; a League Pass tier upgrade does not remove the rights restriction. For international viewers, the service may offer broader live access, but country and event availability still need to be verified.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does NBA League Pass include every NBA game live?

When can I watch a blacked-out game on replay in the United States?
Under the NBA guide updated October 6, 2026, local games become available three days after the live broadcast concludes. Can I watch nationally televised games on League Pass in Canada?
Not live, according to the NBA’s October 2026 blackout guide. It names Sportsnet, TSN, CTV, RDS and Amazon Prime Video as examples of live outlets, with the League Pass replay available a few hours after broadcast. Check the listing for the specific game.
Does League Pass work when I travel?
The NBA says subscribers can use League Pass in any supported country, regardless of where they purchased it. Game access can change with the device’s location, however, and some countries or territories are not supported. Check the destination and that game’s availability before traveling.
Does NBA League Pass Premium remove blackouts?
No. Premium features such as offline viewing, up to three concurrent devices and in-arena streams affect how you watch eligible content; they do not override local, national or event-specific rights restrictions.
Are NBA Cup, Playoffs and Summer League games included?
Their availability varies. The NBA says non-nationally broadcast Cup Group Play games may be available in the US and Canada subject to local blackouts, while other Cup games have specific restrictions. All-Star events, Playoffs and Finals are not live on League Pass in the US or Canada under the October 2026 guide. California Classic and Utah Summer League are listed as live and on demand globally; Las Vegas access depends on location and subscription.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: League Pass is best for out-of-market NBA games, replays and other available NBA content—not as a guarantee of every game live. Before paying, check the NBA schedule and location checker for your country, ZIP code or device location, the game’s broadcaster and any event-specific rule. Confirm current plan features and pricing on the purchase page.
