McDonald’s Monopoly is a limited-time U.S. promotion: register in the McDonald’s app, then scan or enter a code from a game piece to see whether it awards food, Rewards points, a property toward a Collect to Win prize, or a digital Chance Card play. No purchase is necessary, and buying food does not improve your odds. The 2026 game runs October 6–November 1, with later deadlines for mail-in requests, Chance Card plays, and prize claims.

How to play the 2026 U.S. game
- Set up the app: Download or update the McDonald’s app, create or sign in to an account, opt in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards, and register for the game. The rules allow one app account and one game registration per person.
- Get a game piece: During the game period, participating U.S. restaurants may provide a piece with eligible items while specially marked packaging lasts. Check the packaging before leaving; limited-time or seasonal items are excluded even if they resemble an eligible category.
- Register before an order for a bonus play: To qualify for a Chance Card play tied to a purchase, opt in and register before ordering. Use Mobile Order & Pay or associate your Rewards code with the purchase. The rules allow one bonus play per qualifying menu item.
- Scan or enter the code: In the game section of the app, scan the piece or enter its code manually. Keep the physical piece after scanning in case it is requested to verify a prize.
- Play any Chance Card: If the code grants a Chance Card play, start it in the app. The limit is eight code entries and eight Chance Card plays per day, measured in Eastern Time.
The rules list eligible items including large hot McCafé beverages, large soft drinks and cold drinks, large fries, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, a Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, 4-piece McCrispy Strips, hash browns, biscuit sandwiches (excluding limited-time sandwiches), and McMuffin sandwiches. Availability depends on participating locations and marked packaging.
How to get a piece without buying food
No purchase is necessary to play or win, and a purchase does not improve the chance of winning. The 2026 rules provide a mail-in method; they do not provide an online free-code form.

Send one request in a postage-paid, non-metered outer envelope containing one self-addressed envelope with sufficient non-metered return postage. Vermont residents may omit return postage. Each compliant request receives one game piece while supplies last, and the piece also supplies one Chance Card play when entered. The request had to arrive by November 2, 2026, and the rules limit requests to one per outer envelope. The rules permit rejection of pieces or codes obtained through illegitimate channels, including online purchases.
What a game piece can award

Prizes are subject to their own terms. For example, the rules say the $1 million cash prize is paid as $50,000 per year for 20 years without interest. Winners are responsible for applicable taxes and costs not expressly included in a prize. An advertised approximate retail value is not necessarily a cash payout.

What the odds mean
McDonald’s USA, LLC planned approximately 640,591,900 game pieces for distribution in 2026 and listed approximately 122,458,639 food prizes. At the start of the promotion, the rules gave overall food-prize odds of about 1 in 5.23 and overall odds of 1 in 5 for an instant-win prize, mostly food. These are separate overall starting-odds descriptions—not guarantees, nor the odds of winning a particular prize. Prize quantities diminish as awards are claimed, so odds change during the promotion.
Collect to Win odds depend on the specific property set and are much longer than the overall instant-win odds. At the start of the game, the rules gave approximate odds of 1 in 187,960,469 for collecting Park Place and Boardwalk for the Carnival cruise package. Treat that figure as the rules’ starting odds for that particular combination, not a general chance of winning any prize.

Chance Card results depend on when a play starts: a winning play receives the prize seeded for that time or an earlier-seeded prize that remains unawarded. The rules do not give players a reliable way to know which start time will win. Claims that a particular purchase, animation, or social-media “hack” changes the odds are not supported by the rules.
Dates and eligibility
- Game pieces and purchase-related bonus plays: October 6 through November 1, 2026, local time, while supplies last.
- Mail-in requests: Must arrive by November 2, 2026.
- Last day to play a Chance Card: November 8, 2026.
- Prize claim deadline: November 22, 2026.
The rules allow some remaining pieces on packaging to be distributed after the main game period until supplies run out or November 22, whichever comes first. A piece received after November 1 may still be entered by the claim deadline.

The 2026 U.S. promotion is open to residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C., who are at least 18 on the day they participate, subject to additional rule exclusions. App access, Rewards opt-in, and game registration are required to participate and claim. Winners may need to verify identity and eligibility, submit physical pieces, or provide prize documents.
