Lyrics of Livin’ is Matthew McConaughey’s newsletter and audio series, announced in December 2024. Its launch announcement called it a weekly Friday read or listen, with the first edition planned for January 3, 2025. McConaughey said he wanted to share stories and ideas drawn from his life; the launch schedule and the formats described then should not be taken as confirmation of what is available today.
What Lyrics of Livin’ was announced to be
McConaughey and his launch collaborators presented Lyrics of Livin’ as a way to share personal stories, tips, truths, thoughts and inspirations in written and narrated form. A collaborator described the intended format as a short Friday read or listen, and identified Kit as the newsletter platform. That is a description of the launch, not a current confirmation of the platform or schedule. TheWrap reported the announcement on December 27, 2024.

McConaughey later described the project as a way to share stories and ideas “in my own voice with those who want to listen,” according to a statement quoted by TheWrap on November 11, 2025. That wording reflects his stated purpose, not a guarantee of what subscribers will get from it.
Why McConaughey said he created it
In the launch announcement, McConaughey connected the newsletter to decades of journaling. He said the notes behind his memoir, Greenlights, gave him ideas he wanted to share sooner rather than wait to collect in another book. He framed Lyrics of Livin’ as a way to pass along reflections and experiences as they came from that personal record. Kit’s launch account and TheWrap’s announcement report describe that connection.

When it launched—and what the schedule meant
The announcement came on December 27, 2024, and said the first edition was planned for January 3, 2025. Launch coverage described the series as weekly, with a Friday release intended to help readers close out the week and move into the weekend. Those are launch-era plans. The available reporting does not establish whether Lyrics of Livin’ is still publishing, what cadence it follows now, or which editions are currently available.

What changed with the Spanish-language edition
In November 2025, TheWrap reported McConaughey’s statement that Lyrics of Livin’ was expanding with a Spanish-language edition. TheWrap and ElevenLabs described the Spanish version as an audio expansion using ElevenLabs technology. TheWrap’s report and ElevenLabs’ announcement establish that the expansion was described in 2025; they do not verify its current availability. The announcement concerns this project and does not mean McConaughey’s voice technology is generally available for others to use.
