LEGO Fortnite Brick Life is a city-based social roleplay experience in Fortnite, not a GTA-style crime game. Epic announced it on December 9, 2024, and launched it on December 12, 2024. Its focus is exploring Brick Bay, meeting other players, taking jobs, and furnishing a home.
What is LEGO Fortnite Brick Life?
Epic Games described Brick Life as “an all-new social roleplay experience in the LEGO Fortnite world.” The launch announcement framed it around everyday city activities and shared play; it did not announce GTA-equivalent crime systems or a story campaign. Epic’s December 9, 2024 announcement introduced the experience ahead of its December 12 launch.
Epic said Brick Life could host up to 32 players. That is the capacity stated in its 2024 launch announcement, not a claim about current matchmaking or population. Epic’s December 9, 2024 overview also described the broader LEGO Fortnite lineup.
What can players do in Brick Bay?
Explore and socialize
The setting is Brick Bay, with places such as a beach, Town Square, and Mourndale Academy. Announced activities include going to restaurants, hosting house parties, visiting rooftop clubs, and racing hoverboards with friends and other players.

The launch description lets players purchase a home on an available lot and decorate it using a furniture catalogue and shop. That is launch-era information, not a guarantee of present-day compatibility.

Is Brick Life the same as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey?
No. They are distinct experiences within Fortnite’s LEGO play offerings. Brick Life is the city social roleplay experience; LEGO Fortnite Odyssey is the renamed survival-crafting game. The LEGO Group’s December 9, 2024 update described the distinction and announced an Odyssey update for December 10, 2024. Read the LEGO Group’s update.

|---|---|---|
| LEGO Fortnite Brick Life | City-based social roleplay | Launched December 12, 2024 |
| LEGO Fortnite Odyssey | Survival crafting | Renamed and given a major update announced for December 10, 2024 |
Epic also described LEGO Fortnite as the central category or hub for LEGO play experiences in Fortnite. The names can be confusing because Brick Life and Odyssey sit under that wider LEGO Fortnite umbrella, but they have different play styles. Epic’s overview of the December 2024 launches explains that broader framing.
How do you access Brick Life?
At launch, Epic directed players to Fortnite’s Discover menu and the LEGO Fortnite category to select Brick Life. The same announcement said it was available wherever Fortnite was supported except South Korea. These are launch-era directions and regional details; current menu placement and regional availability may differ.
