GR6 Histórias is a GR6–KondZilla album project that revisits selected São Paulo funk hits in new recordings, pairing artists associated with the original songs with newer performers. It offers a look back at part of GR6’s catalog—not a comprehensive history of funk in São Paulo.
What GR6 Histórias is
Announced in July 2025, GR6 Histórias is a collaboration between São Paulo production companies GR6 and KondZilla. The project re-records earlier hits with new arrangements while seeking to retain the character of the originals. Virgin Music was named as distributor in the announcement coverage. Billboard Brasil and POPline described the work as an album.

Which songs and artists are involved?
Billboard Brasil reported that the project would revisit 20 hits originally released between 2014 and 2025. The publication said each had surpassed 100 million YouTube views; that is its reported description, not an independently audited count.
The participating artists span different moments in the scene. Coverage named established performers including MC Livinho, MC Davi, MC Don Juan, MC Kevinho and MC Neguinho do Kaxeta, alongside more current names such as MC IG, MC PH, MC Luuky, Kayblack and Vulgo FK. POPline likewise emphasized the pairing of artists associated with earlier songs and performers popular with newer audiences.

Why GR6’s history matters to the project
GR6’s own trajectory provides context for its retrospective. A thesis in the Universidade Federal de São Paulo repository describes the company’s beginnings in 2011 as GR6 Eventos, organizing funk parties in São Paulo’s North Zone, and says it expanded into artist management the following year. The thesis identifies Rodrigo Oliveira, later known as Rodrigo GR6, as its founder. GR6’s current company page describes its work across artist management, audiovisual production, marketing and other services; this is the company’s own account. UNIFESP thesis; GR6 company page.
The project’s focus also reflects the growing influence of São Paulo production companies in funk. In a report on the scene and the GR6–KondZilla relationship, UOL quoted early funk MC Backdi recalling that some São Paulo rap listeners did not regard lyrics coming from Rio favorably. That is one artist’s recollection, not evidence of a universal view. UOL Splash’s report offers that wider context.

What the album can—and cannot—say about São Paulo funk
GR6 Histórias is best understood as a label-centered retrospective: it selects hits connected to GR6 and reintroduces them through new recordings and cross-generational collaborations. Its selection can show how one company presents its catalog and connects artists from different periods.
It should not be treated as a complete history of São Paulo funk. The project’s reported selection does not establish a comprehensive account of the genre’s origins, regional forms or artists outside the album. Nor do the available reports establish a physical edition; they identify an album and distributor, but not a specific retail format. GR6’s official news page lists the project among its releases.
