Who is Harrison Wells in season 1?
Season 1 distinguishes between two people: the real scientist, Harrison Wells, and the man the team knows as Dr. Wells. The latter has taken the scientist’s identity. The reveal identifies him as Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash.

What happened to the real Harrison Wells?
In the episode 20 reveal, the team learns that the real Wells had been killed in an accident 15 years earlier. The man appearing as Dr. Wells is therefore an impostor, not the original scientist.
When does the show reveal the secret?
The mystery is the focus of season 1, episode 19, “Who Is Harrison Wells?” Apple TV lists the episode as airing April 21, 2015, and describes Joe and Cisco continuing their investigation into Dr. Wells: Apple TV’s episode listing.

The reveal is covered in the following episode, “The Trap.” An April 28, 2015 episode preview from International Business Times UK describes the team learning that Wells was killed years earlier and setting a trap for the impostor; its headline identifies him as the Reverse-Flash: International Business Times UK’s episode 20 preview.
Prime Video also lists “Who is Harrison Wells?” among its season 1 episodes: Prime Video’s season 1 page. Episode listings do not establish that the show is currently available to watch in every region.
