How Kahhori gets back to her people
“What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?” is Season 2, Episode 6, which Disney+ lists as premiering on December 27, 2023. Its alternate-history premise asks what might happen if the Tesseract reached the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before European colonization. There, it transforms a lake into a gateway to the stars.

Kahhori falls through the lake portal and arrives in the Sky World, where she develops powers. When conquistadors arrive there, she realizes her people at home are still in danger. She brings the portal down and returns. The Sky World community later follows her and helps defeat the Spanish soldiers and free her people. Kahhori then confronts Queen Isabella, seeking to establish peace.
This is an imagined alternate timeline, not a claim about historical events. Marvel’s character announcement describes Kahhori as a young Mohawk woman in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and notes that the episode was developed with Mohawk Nation contributors, including historian Doug George and language expert Cecelia King. Disney’s production account says the episode is fully subtitled in the community’s language. Executive producer and director Bryan Andrews explained the creative choice: “The whole episode is subtitled, and they were like, ‘That’s never been done for us before.’ From the very beginning I was like, ‘It’s going to be in their language; I’m not budging.’”

What Strange Supreme’s arrival means
Strange Supreme’s sudden appearance shifts the story from Kahhori’s effort to protect her people toward a larger multiverse conflict. The scene establishes only that he has been looking for her: it does not say why, what he wants her to do, or whether she will help him. Any more specific explanation goes beyond what Episode 6 reveals.
What the later finale adds
Season 2’s catalog lists a later finale, “What If… Strange Supreme Intervened?” Coverage of that finale describes a broader plan involving beings capable of destroying their universes and Strange Supreme’s attempt to restore his own. That context helps place his search for Kahhori within the season’s wider arc, but it is not a motive stated in Episode 6. The episode itself ends with the question still open.

Why the episode’s premise matters
Andrews described the story’s starting point as a creative “what if,” asking: “What bigger ‘what if’ is there than, ‘What if colonialization didn’t happen? What if the Europeans didn’t come here?’” The question frames the alternate-history premise; it is not a statement of historical fact. The episode’s language choice and consultation process also distinguish its setting from a generic multiverse backdrop, while the closing encounter leaves Kahhori poised to enter a conflict beyond her homecoming.
