Its present location and owner are not established in the available reports. The documented outcome is a 2004 charity auction; Judd’s later account is that she has not seen the dress since wearing it. Why did the dress become so famous?
The dress was designed by Ruth Tarvydas, whose official biography identifies Twigley/Judd as the wearer of her famous 2004 Brownlow gown. Ruth Tarvydas, “About” The striking red-carpet appearance drew intense media attention. Recalling it in the PerthNow report, Judd said: “I really didn’t think it would grab that much attention, but I got hounded on the red carpet.” She added: “Everyone wanted an interview and pictures.”
Chris Judd described the night as a turning point, saying: “It did feel like a before and after event. Some wonderful opportunities opened up from it.” In a 2025 retrospective, Rebecca Judd recalled the east coast press reacting with surprise as she walked the carpet; The West Australian framed the dress as a career-defining moment.
