Marin Hinkle kept acting after Two and a Half Men, working in television, film, and theater. Her best-known later television role was Rose Weissman, Midge Maisel’s mother, on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. A Geffen Playhouse biography reports that Hinkle received two Emmy nominations for the role and documents her 2025 stage appearance in The Reservoir.
Her career continued after the sitcom
Hinkle did not disappear from screen or stage when her run on Two and a Half Men ended. Later television credits include Madam Secretary, Speechless, and Homeland, among other projects. These are examples of her work, not a complete list of her credits. BroadwayWorld’s credits and biography and Prime Video’s person page list associated screen work.

Rose Weissman became her standout later TV role
Beginning in 2017, Hinkle played Rose Weissman, the devoted and anxious mother of Midge Maisel, in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In a 2019 Television Academy interview, Hinkle said Rose felt unlike anyone she had played before and compared the character with Judith, her role on Two and a Half Men. The contrast helps explain why Rose stands out in her later career: she gave Hinkle a very different character to inhabit.
Geffen Playhouse reports that Hinkle received two Emmy nominations for playing Rose. Its biography gives the number but not the nomination years, so the count is the supported detail here. The Television Academy interview also captures Hinkle’s approach to roles: “I’m drawn to roles I can disappear into,” she said, “and totally become that person.”

She also continued working in theater and film
Stage work
Theater has remained a substantial part of Hinkle’s career. The Geffen Playhouse biography lists stage credits including Electra, A Thousand Clowns, Dinner with Friends, The Tempest, and Miss Julie. It records Hinkle in the Geffen production of The Reservoir from June 18 to July 20, 2025. That dated engagement is evidence of recent stage work, not confirmation of a current 2026 production.
Film work
Geffen Playhouse’s biography also names film credits including The Electric State and both Jumanji films. The biography includes other titles whose release status may be prospective or subject to change; they should not be treated as released films without a current confirmation.
