Enzo, the two-year-old son of Malaysian influencer Jasmine Yong, died on May 17, 2024, after being found in a hotel pool. Reports published by CNA/8days and AsiaOne attributed the account of what happened to Yong and her family.
What happened at the hotel?
Yong’s family was staying at a hotel for Mother’s Day after checking in on May 11, 2024. According to her account as reported by CNA/8days, on May 12 Enzo drank milk and fell asleep on the bed beside his parents. They also fell asleep. When they woke, he was no longer beside them. They noticed that the door to the indoor pool—which they understood to have been locked—was open, and found Enzo in the pool. CNA/8days reported the family’s account on May 20, 2024.
What happened after Enzo was found?
As the family’s account was reported, Yong performed CPR. The couple could not call an ambulance from their room because of poor cellular reception, so her husband went to seek help. They carried Enzo to the lobby, where hotel staff helped call an ambulance. At the hospital, Enzo received emergency resuscitation and regained a heartbeat, but remained unconscious. He died on May 17, five days after the reported pool incident. AsiaOne also reported the family’s account and outcome on May 20, 2024.
What is known—and what remains unclear?
The reports identify the child as Enzo, age two, and place the incident at the hotel where the family was staying. They do not establish how the pool door opened, describe the hotel’s access-control arrangements, or provide independent findings about responsibility. The reported chronology is the family’s account, not a published investigative finding.
