Kristin Kreuk kept acting after Smallville. She went on to lead two more television series—Beauty & the Beast and Burden of Truth—and took on producing roles as well. Later credits include Reacher and Murder in a Small Town.

From Lana Lang to new leading roles
Kreuk’s career did not end with Lana Lang. A CW Press biography says she landed the Smallville role the year after her title role in the television movie Snow White, while continuing on the Canadian series Edgemont. The same network biography also lists work including Ben Hur, Chuck, Eurotrip, Earthsea, Partition and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li; it is a career summary, not a complete filmography.

Beauty & the Beast: acting and producing
After Smallville, Kreuk took another substantial television lead as Detective Catherine “Cat” Chandler in Beauty & the Beast. The CW Press biography credits her with starring across four seasons and serving as a producer. That combination expanded her work beyond performing, while keeping her in a leading role.
Burden of Truth: a lead role with executive-producing work
Kreuk then starred as lawyer Joanna Chang, also known as Joanna Hanley, in the Canadian legal drama Burden of Truth. She was also an executive producer. The series completed four seasons in 2021, giving Kreuk another sustained lead role and a behind-the-camera responsibility.

Why Burden of Truth ended
Kreuk described the ending as a decision about where Joanna’s story should go, not as a sign that she was leaving acting. In an Entertainment Tonight interview published July 29, 2021, she said the team wanted to explore how parenthood might pass intergenerational trauma to the next generation. She also explained that finding deeply personal cases for Joanna year after year would become difficult: “We thought that it would become too much to constantly find something that was super personal to Joanna year after year. We were like, ‘This seems like a nice way to end it.’”
In an August 13, 2021 interview with The Nerds of Color, Kreuk called the experience her “most gratifying work experience,” describing the process of taking a show from pitching and ordering through work with the writers, cast and crew. Her account reflects the scope of her role as both lead actor and executive producer.

What her later credits establish—and what they do not
Apple’s Kristin Kreuk catalog page lists Reacher and Murder in a Small Town among her credits. Global’s official series page lists second-season episodes from October through December 2025. Apple labels its Reacher entry “2026,” but that catalog year alone does not confirm a new season appearance by Kreuk. These listings show later credits; they do not establish current streaming availability, which can vary by country and change over time.

A September 22, 2020 episode listing for Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum says Kreuk discussed balancing an acting career with pursuing a degree, stress, and discomfort with fame during Smallville. The listing describes the episode’s topics; it does not establish that she left acting or completed a particular degree.
