What happened to Evan and Zora after the finale?
In the 2003 finale, Evan chose Zora after revealing that he was not the wealthy heir the contestants had been led to expect. The show awarded them a $1 million check. The Associated Press reported at the time that Evan was a construction worker earning $19,000 a year; that figure describes his reported income during the show, not his later earnings. The relationship ended soon after filming. In a February 2003 interview with TV Guide, Zora said, “We’re just friends.” She explained that she realized almost immediately after filming that the relationship was not meant to be, and that the reunion special’s editing made the couple seem more hopeful than they were. Retrospective coverage says Evan returned to construction after the show and later started his own company in Orange County. Bustle’s account, updated in 2024, draws on older interviews and reporting; it documents post-show history, not his current employment, residence, or business status. Zora Andrich
Reliable recent reporting offers little detail about Zora’s present-day life. TV Insider reported in 2024 that Zora Sabrina appeared with other former participants in an episode of Dark Side of Reality TV.
