What did Erin Heatherton’s 2019 bankruptcy filing report?
The Blast reported that documents filed in Heatherton’s Chapter 7 case listed $6,465.57 in assets and $560,242.13 in liabilities. Those numbers describe the filing snapshot reported in 2019; they are not a current net-worth estimate or a final court judgment. The outlet also reported average monthly income of $1,089.91 and average monthly expenses of $1,074.
The same report attributed the following debts and income figures to the documents:
- $215,601.49 in credit-card debt.
- A $201,000 line of credit.
- $100,000 connected to a legal dispute with a former business partner.
- $41,000 in New York state back taxes.
- Reported income of $226,596 in 2017, $18,000 in 2018, and $2,820 through the filing period in 2019.

Why did she leave Victoria’s Secret?
Heatherton discussed the pressures she experienced in a 2016 interview with TIME. She said, “My last two Victoria’s Secret shows, I was told I had to lose weight,” and described depression and difficulty preparing for her final show in 2013. These are her account of what she experienced, not independent confirmation of a company policy.

What was reported after the bankruptcy filing?
A Chicago magazine profile published in January 2020 described Heatherton living in Chicago and returning to interests from her youth while changing her exercise and health routine. The profile’s title and search-result text mention quitting smoking and weightlifting. This is a dated account of her life after the filing, not a current update. The reporting cited here does not establish the bankruptcy case’s final outcome, Heatherton’s present work, or her circumstances in 2026. The 2020 profile is the latest dated account in this material, so it should not be used to claim what she is doing today. Nor do these sources show that leaving Victoria’s Secret caused her bankruptcy.
