Reports about the case involving Shawn Chan say he was taken into custody and later found not guilty by reason of insanity after a federal stipulated-facts bench trial. In June 2026, outlets reported that he was transferred from U.S. Marshals custody to ICE custody under a pre-existing immigration detainer—not released into the community. The allegations and legal outcome should be kept distinct, and an earlier, unconfirmed report of a separate custody incident at WWE’s Performance Center has not been linked to Chan’s case.
What was Liv Morgan’s reported account?
In an interview with Holly Madison, reported by Fightful on April 16, 2026, Morgan described an alleged fan ringing her doorbell and trying to enter her home while she was away. Morgan said WWE contacted the FBI. Those details are Morgan’s reported account; they are not presented here as independently established facts from a primary court record. Fightful reported that the accused was still in custody awaiting trial at the time of the interview. Fightful’s interview coverage
What happened in the federal case?
June 2026 coverage identified the defendant as Shawn Chan and reported that a stipulated-facts bench trial ended with a finding of not guilty by reason of insanity on the federal count. That is not a conviction. Wrestling Headlines reported that the order directed Chan’s release from U.S. Marshals custody and transfer to ICE custody because of a pre-existing immigration detainer. It also described the court’s finding as addressing whether release would create a substantial risk of bodily injury or serious property damage due to a present mental disease or defect. Wrestling Headlines’ report
Slam Wrestling likewise reported on June 24, 2026, that the case had closed and that Chan was transferred to ICE custody. These are secondary accounts of court action; the primary docket was not independently retrieved for this article. The reported custody transfer does not establish what happened afterward, including whether Chan was deported or what his later custody status became. Slam Wrestling’s case-closure report

Was the 2025 WWE Performance Center incident the same case?
It has not been established that it was. On June 4, 2025, Sports Illustrated/FanNation reported that a person was reportedly taken into custody outside WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando. That report said the circumstances were unknown and noted that Orlando police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office had not confirmed an arrest at the time. It did not identify the person as Chan. Without evidence connecting the incidents, the Performance Center report should not be treated as the beginning of Chan’s federal case. Sports Illustrated/FanNation’s report
