That episode confirms his return to the podcast; it does not establish a medical prognosis or describe every aspect of his current work.
What happened with Joe’s brain surgery?
ABC News reported that Joe had surgery in early August 2026 to remove a brain lesion and was diagnosed with very low-grade astrocytoma. In an August 28, 2026 interview, he said he was taking daily medication and still had some difficulty speaking. He described himself as “about 90% back”—his own account of his recovery at that time, not a clinical assessment or forecast. Read ABC News’ report.

Is Grocery Store Joe still selling pasta sauce?
There is no current confirmation in the available sources that Joe is selling pasta sauce. A June 13, 2024 Apple Podcasts listing for a guest appearance mentioned that he had his own pasta sauce, but that older reference does not establish that it is still available. See the 2024 episode listing.
Likewise, a January 2026 article about speculation around Joe and Serena’s role on Bachelor Happy Hour does not establish their present status on that show. Their current podcast activity is the more recent confirmed information.
