Its “naked dress” description refers to sheer, embroidered panels and a stomach cut-out—not a completely transparent gown. A corseted bodice and voluminous black tulle skirt gave the look structure and contrast.
What was Florence Pugh’s premiere dress?
Vogue identified Pugh’s gown as a sheer-panelled design from Elie Saab’s Fall 2024 collection. The black dress paired embroidered floral motifs and a corseted bodice with a stomach cut-out, a low back, and a full tulle skirt that extended into a train, according to Vogue and Marie Claire.
The effect depended on contrast: delicate sheer black lace and exposed sections against the gown’s substantial skirt and structured bodice. Calling it a “naked dress” captures the revealing panels and cut-outs, but does not mean the entire gown was see-through.
Who styled the look?
Marie Claire credited Rebecca Corbin-Murray as Pugh’s stylist and Ara Vartanian for the jewelry. The beauty details included a slicked-back blonde bob with flipped ends by Hyungsun Ju and eye makeup featuring neon orange shadow by Alex Babsky. Michelle Class created a natural, glossy manicure, according to Marie Claire.

How was the after-party outfit different?
Pugh changed clothes for the later London after-party. Vogue described that separate look as a sheer nude tulle trench worn over a matching lingerie-bodice dress, with heeled ballet pumps. It was not the black Elie Saab gown she wore on the premiere red carpet. Vogue’s event coverage distinguishes the two outfits.
What did Pugh say that day?
Marie Claire reproduced a premiere-day Instagram caption Pugh shared while getting ready: “Racing around town as fast as my clackers can go, hair is constantly flapping in my face,”. The caption was not an interview or a comment about the gown’s design.
