ABC News attributed this line to Mendes’s Instagram caption: “So beyond proud to be this Ken’s Barbie 💕.” It also reproduced her writing: “Despite all the #Notmyken ridicule and articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character and took it all the way to Oscars.” The punctuation and spacing here follow the report.
The wording is attributed to Mendes through ABC News’s account of her post; the post itself is not independently verified here. Read ABC News’s report.
