In it, he urged Billie and Georgia to stay present, find something they love, and face hardship with dignity, before telling them: “You are my heart. You are my everything.”
What Eric Dane said to Billie and Georgia
In the closing minutes of the interview, Dane spoke directly to his daughters, Billie and Georgia. The Los Angeles Times reported that they were 15 and 14, respectively, at the time of the February 2026 coverage.
Dane shared lessons he said he had learned while living with ALS. He encouraged his daughters to focus on the present: “The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment.” He also urged them to find something they loved—whether a person or a passion—that made them want to get up in the morning, as the Associated Press reported.
He spoke about meeting suffering with dignity. “This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit,” he said, according to the Times. The Independent quoted him telling the girls: “I hope I’ve demonstrated that you can face anything. You can face the end of your days. You can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high.”

Why the message was part of an interview
Famous Last Words is a series built around interviews recorded for release after a guest’s death. AP reported that executive producer Brad Falchuk interviewed Dane and said no one else was in the room during the taping; camera operators were in another room. Falchuk described the aim as creating a setting where a guest could speak openly and leave something for people to experience after they were gone. That is his explanation of the production approach, rather than a statement about a private family-only recording.
