That 2018 account and Arons’s 2025 recollection both describe continued closeness or contact, but they come from different speakers and dates. Andy’s statement describes the circumstances as he presented them at the time; Arons’s memoir excerpt gives her later perspective. Neither should be treated as a direct account from Kate.

What did Andy say about Kate’s health?
In his 2018 statement, Andy said Kate had depression and anxiety, was seeking help, and was working with doctors. Those are his attributed remarks, not a complete clinical history. Kate died in New York on June 5, 2018, at age 55; contemporaneous reporting described her death as an apparent suicide. The available accounts do not establish that the couple’s separation or any single event caused her death.
