In Sean “Diddy” Combs’s 2025 federal trial, a former assistant identified in court reporting as “Mia” testified that he sexually assaulted her several times and described a demanding job that included cracking his knuckles. Her account was testimony, not a separate jury finding on each alleged incident. The jury later convicted Combs on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.

Who was “Mia” in the trial?

“Mia” is the pseudonym used for Combs’s former personal assistant in trial reporting; the sources cited here do not establish her legal identity. The Associated Press reported that she worked for Combs from 2009 to 2017, first as his personal assistant and later at his film company. The government’s sentencing memorandum gives a similar employment period.

What did Mia say about the alleged assaults?

Mia testified that Combs sexually assaulted her multiple times. The Associated Press and the government’s sentencing memorandum describe incidents she said took place at a birthday party, in a bedroom where she was sleeping, and in a closet while she was packing. These are accounts she gave in testimony, not findings by the jury on each incident.

Mia also told the jury she felt unable to refuse even ordinary requests, saying, “I couldn’t tell him ‘no’ about a sandwich — I couldn’t tell him ‘no’ about anything.” ABC News reported that she said she feared he would damage her reputation or humiliate her. She also described his authority by saying, “Puff’s authority was above the police.”

Why did the headline mention cracking his knuckles?

Knuckle-cracking was one example in Mia’s description of the wide range of tasks Combs could demand. ABC News reported that she said he might ask her to do “17,000 things,” including cracking his knuckles, handling his taxes, and standing near him for 22 hours a day. The 22-hour figure is an example from her account, not an independently audited work schedule.

The Associated Press reported that Mia described long, unpredictable work demands, including stretches of several days without rest. The government’s sentencing memorandum says that on one occasion she worked five consecutive days without sleep. Both descriptions summarize testimony; they are not independently verified time records.

What was the outcome of Combs’s criminal case?

During the May 2025 trial, ABC News reported that Combs had pleaded not guilty and maintained that his sexual encounters were consensual. The case later reached a verdict: the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York says the jury found him guilty on July 2, 2025, of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. The office says he was sentenced to 50 months in prison on October 3, 2025.

That case outcome should be kept distinct from Mia’s specific allegations. The official summary establishes the counts of conviction and sentence, but does not say that the jury separately adjudicated each incident she described.
