It was yellow. After the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl 60 in February 2026, head coach Mike Macdonald was doused with yellow Gatorade, according to reports from BetMGM and DraftKings Network.
Which Super Bowl are you asking about?
The latest result in the reports cited here is Super Bowl 60, played in February 2026: yellow was poured on Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald after Seattle beat the New England Patriots. The previous year was yellow too. The Associated Press reported that Eagles coach Nick Sirianni received a yellow shower after Philadelphia beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX (2025), with 2:52 left in the game: AP’s live report.
Two consecutive yellow showers describe two past games; they do not make yellow a dependable pick for a future Super Bowl.

Why the result does not predict the next color
Past outcomes show what happened, not what will happen. A historical tally can change depending on the years counted and whether a clear or water shower is grouped with a color or recorded separately. Sporting News also reports no real evidence that team uniform colors predict the shower color; its account describes sideline selections, including randomized options, rather than a proven forecasting method: Sporting News’ history and explanation.

A shower is not guaranteed, either. Historical lists include “None” and “Clear” alongside colored results, so a betting market may offer no shower as an outcome or treat clear liquid separately. Check how the specific market defines its options before interpreting a result.
What the betting coverage can—and cannot—tell you
BetMGM and DraftKings Network described Gatorade-color markets for Super Bowl 60, but their reported location lists differ. BetMGM named Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming, and Ontario; DraftKings Network named Illinois, New Jersey, Oregon, Maine, West Virginia, and Ontario. Secondary accounts trace the familiar victory-shower tradition to the New York Giants and coach Bill Parcells in 1984. Sporting News says Giants linebacker Harry Carson delivered the first Super Bowl shower in 1987, dousing Parcells with orange Gatorade after the Giants beat Denver in Super Bowl XXI. BetMGM also links the tradition’s origin to a 1984 Giants regular-season game. These are reported histories, not an official NFL origin record.
