Ben Affleck has said he owned a 1969 Cadillac Sedan DeVille and a 1966 Chevelle, but his accounts are historical—not a current inventory. He has also described buying a Jeep Cherokee early in his career and once owning a convertible Malibu. Affleck says he likes classic cars, especially 1960s American models, but does not consider himself a collector.
Which cars did Ben Affleck say he owned?
In a Men’s Journal interview, Affleck described two cars he owned at the time of the interview:
- Cadillac Sedan DeVille: He said he and his brother bought it in 1991, when they moved to Los Angeles, and had it restored. He described it as a 1969 model and said they still drove it periodically.
- Chevrolet Chevelle: He named a 1966 Chevelle as another car he had.
Those statements establish what Affleck reported then, not whether he owns either car today. The Cadillac’s year and status also differ in an earlier account, so the model year should not be treated as settled.
Why do sources give different years for the Cadillac?
A 2013 Architectural Digest interview quotes Affleck describing his Cadillac as a 1972 Sedan De Ville and saying it was in storage for sentimental reasons. Men’s Journal later gives the year as 1969 and says it was periodically driven. The accounts conflict on both the model year and its status at the time; neither establishes the car’s present condition or location.

What other cars has he mentioned?
Black Jeep Cherokee
In a 2019 profile by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, Affleck recalled buying a black Jeep Cherokee after he and Matt Damon received $300,000 each from the sale of the Good Will Hunting screenplay. It is an early-career purchase he remembered, not evidence of current ownership.
Convertible Malibu
The Architectural Digest feature also mentions a convertible Malibu Affleck used to have. That makes it a former car, not one he identified as part of his later pair.

Cars he browsed or admired
In the same Architectural Digest account, Affleck described browsing Chevelles and other classic cars on eBay. That indicates an interest in them; it does not show he bought any particular listing. His stated preference for 1960s American cars is consistent with the Chevelle he named, but admiration alone is not ownership.
Does Ben Affleck collect cars?
He says he does not. In the Men’s Journal interview, Affleck said, “I don’t collect cars,” while explaining that he likes cars—especially 1960s American cars—and does not think having two is enough to make someone a collector. The label is his own characterization, rather than a claim about a larger or current collection.

Was the BMW motorcycle in Paycheck his?
No ownership is established by the available account. BMW’s 2003 press release says an R 1150 R Rockster appeared in the film Paycheck and describes a promotional giveaway involving Affleck. It does not say that he personally owned the motorcycle.
