Avaline Rosé is the bottle with the clearest tasting evidence. The brand describes it as light and fresh, with melon and zest. Independent reviewers tasted more red fruit: strawberry, nectarine and cherry in one 2024 review, and watermelon and strawberry with a neutral finish in another. It is dry, with 0 g sugar per serving according to the brand’s own product page.
“Avaline wine” is not one flavor. The brand sells several styles, and the notes below apply to the specific bottle named in each source, with the date of that source.
What Avaline Rosé tastes like, by source
Three kinds of source describe the Rosé, and they answer different questions. Brand copy tells you what the producer wants you to expect. A blind-tasted score tells you how one publication’s panel rated one bottle on one date. A staff tasting reports how a group of editors reacted to a set of wines.
| Source | Date | Taste description | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avaline, current Rosé product page (accessed Oct. 8, 2026) | Live page, undated | Light and fresh, with melon and zest | None (brand copy) |
| Drinkhacker, NV Rosé review | Apr. 28, 2024 | Strawberry-led, with nectarine, cherry, pepper and bright acidity | 8.0/10 |
| Wine Enthusiast, blind-tasted NV Rosé | Dec. 1, 2024 | Watermelon and strawberry, neutral finish | 83 points |
“NV” means non-vintage, so the blend can change from year to year. The two reviews agree on red fruit but disagree on emphasis and finish. Their scores come from different publications and different scales, so they should not be compared as if they were the same test.

How the rest of the Avaline line tastes
The Rosé is the only bottle with multiple independent notes in the sources reviewed here. For the other styles, the evidence is thinner and comes from fewer publications.
| Wine | Published taste description | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Sauvignon Blanc | Crisp and citrusy, with a hint of rose petals. The staff named it the group favorite. | The Kitchn staff tasting, Aug. 15, 2024 |
| White blend | Lemon zest, peach blossom, stone fruit, green apple, white flowers and a saline note | Drinkhacker, 2024 range. The current blend may differ. |
| Sparkling | Dry and refreshing (The Kitchn). Testers in a 2023 product test wanted more mouthfeel and depth. | The Kitchn, Aug. 15, 2024; Reviewed product test, 2023 |
A Kitchn staff member, Mark, Executive Commerce Director, described the Sauvignon Blanc this way: “It’s light, fresh, and a little citrusy and makes for a nice glass to relax with.” That is one group’s reaction on one date, not a preference survey.

- Our Sauvignon Blanc celebrates the fresh lively spirit of organic viticulture, and the crafting of this wine truly begins in the vineyards.
- For this vintage, we blended fruit from three distinctive yet complementary growing regions in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma counties.
- Made with Organic Grapes
The sources reviewed here do not include tasting notes for the Red, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon. If you are choosing one of those, check the current label and product page rather than assuming it follows the Rosé’s profile.

- Type of Blend: White
- Alcohol By Volume: 12.5% ABV
- Grapes and additives: The Rosé page lists “Organic grapes, sulfites, yeast nutrients” as ingredients.
- Sulfites: The FAQ says the brand adds only enough sulfites to keep the total under 100 ppm. In its words, “While wine can legally have up to 350ppm of sulfites, we add just enough to ensure our wines taste consistently delicious, always keeping the total amount to under 100ppm, which is below the regulation for wines made with organic grapes.”
- Sugar: The FAQ says still wines are fermented dry and list 0 g sugar per serving. It gives 1.18 g of sugar per serving for the Prosecco.
- Fining and gluten: The FAQ says the wines use animal-free fining and are gluten-free.
- Rosé serving facts: 109 calories, 2.5 g carbohydrates, 0 g sugar and 12.5% alcohol by volume per 5 fl oz serving.
Carbohydrates and sugar are separate values. A wine can show 0 g sugar and still list carbohydrates, so read both lines on the label when you compare bottles.
