Rolling Stone Australia reported that the message was dated March 23, 2008. O’Day also said she rebuffed Combs’s sexual advances and felt her departure from Danity Kane was connected to refusing to participate sexually. Those are her account and the report’s description; the reporting does not independently verify the email or establish why she left the group.
What was in the email O’Day read?
In Sean Combs: The Reckoning, O’Day read a message she attributed to Combs. Rolling Stone Australia reported that it was dated March 23, 2008, and included a signature attributed to him. The report does not independently establish that Combs wrote or sent it. Rolling Stone Australia’s account describes the email and its appearance in the series.
What did O’Day say about Danity Kane?
O’Day said she continually rebuffed Combs’s advances. She described her view of her departure from the group this way: “I absolutely felt that I was fired for not participating sexually.” That statement is her reported belief, not an independently established finding about the reason she left Danity Kane.
How does the separate 2005 allegation fit in?
The documentary discussion also included O’Day’s account of learning about an affidavit alleging that a witness saw her incapacitated during an assault in 2005. O’Day said she had no recollection of the alleged incident. This is separate from the 2008 email account; the email does not establish whether the alleged 2005 assault occurred.
