After Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer’s confirmed slate includes three Netflix series: wedding-centered horror Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, animated spin-off Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and supernatural drama The Boroughs. Netflix listed 2026 dates for all three; its The Boroughs page says all eight episodes are available now. The brothers also have a four-year exclusive deal with Paramount for future film, television, and streaming work, but no specific Paramount project has been confirmed in the available announcements.
What projects are the Duffer brothers working on?
Netflix’s March 18, 2026 project guide lists three series associated with the brothers. Only Tales From ’85 returns to the Stranger Things story world; the other two are distinct series with their own premises and creative leads.

What is The Boroughs?

It takes place in an apparently picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert, where an otherworldly threat confronts a group of unlikely heroes. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews created and showrun the eight-episode series; the Duffer brothers executive produce. Netflix says all eight episodes are available to stream now, though viewing availability can vary by territory. Netflix’s series announcement includes the premise and credits.
The Duffers described the characters as “a similarly lovable bunch of misfits” to the kids from Stranger Things, while noting that they have “a few more years on them.”

What does the Paramount deal mean?
Paramount announced a four-year exclusive deal with the Duffers covering feature films, television, and streaming projects. It begins after their Netflix deal concluded in April 2026. The announcement establishes a future arrangement, not a named slate: no specific Paramount title, release date, or production status is substantiated here. Treat any particular project attributed to the deal as unconfirmed unless Paramount or the Duffers announce it.

Netflix reported that Stranger Things season four had amassed more than 140.7 million global views in a 2025 announcement. Netflix did not explain the calculation methodology in that release, so the figure should be read as the company’s reported total rather than an independently defined audience measure. Netflix’s announcement also dates the original series debut to 2016.
