In a December 8, 2022, investigation, the Los Angeles Times reported that more than a dozen people who had worked with David Graziano on multiple television productions described him as volatile and bullying, and alleged demeaning comments about women, support staff and people of color. Graziano and his spokesperson disputed key claims. The accounts are reported allegations, not independently established findings.

What former colleagues alleged

The Los Angeles Times reported on December 8, 2022 that more than a dozen people who had worked with Graziano on productions besides Law & Order: SVU described alleged volatile or bullying behavior. They also alleged that he made demeaning comments about women, support staff and people of color. Some sources spoke anonymously, telling the newspaper they feared professional repercussions.

The investigation also described concerns raised on SVU after Graziano took over the series. Haley Cameron, then a script coordinator, wrote in an industry listserv post quoted by the Times: “I have been in this industry a long time, and I have never experienced such pure, white-male misogyny.” Cameron did not detail the conduct in that post and declined to comment to the newspaper.

What David Graziano and his spokesperson said

Graziano’s spokesperson, Alafair Hall, rejected the implication that he had created a hostile work environment or was sexist, inappropriate or unprofessional, calling it false. Hall also said Graziano had raised performance concerns about Cameron. The Times reported both the allegations and the response; the disagreement does not by itself establish what occurred.

In a statement to the Times, Graziano acknowledged that people had difficulty working with him on Coyote but denied making inappropriate comments. He characterized sensitive remarks as part of story and character work. The article also reported that he said he would not blame past behavior on childhood abuse and wrote, “All any of us can do is evolve and grow.”

What was reportedly found in NBCUniversal’s review?

The Times cited a source close to NBCUniversal who said the company investigated Cameron’s claims and found Graziano was not operating outside professional expectations. That is an attributed account of an internal review—not a public adjudication, a court ruling or a finding resolving every allegation by former colleagues.

How SVU’s later leadership fits the story

In a June 13, 2026, report, TV Insider said Michele Fazekas became SVU’s first female showrunner in April 2025. Discussing the later season, Mariska Hargitay described its set by saying, “There’s no toxicity.” That is Hargitay’s assessment of a later working environment; it does not independently confirm or disprove the earlier, contested accounts.

The central distinction is scope: former colleagues’ accounts concerned several productions, Cameron raised concerns in the context of SVU, Graziano and Hall disputed claims, and the reported NBCUniversal review addressed Cameron’s claims as described by a source close to the company.
